Services

Spacious Knowing Therapy offers individual counselling to adults (ages 18+) with a focus on the following areas:

  • In today’s world, where diet culture, fatphobia, and unrealistic beauty standards remain deeply entrenched, body and fat acceptance focused therapy offers a powerful path toward healing.

As a fat-affirming counsellor, non-diet counsellor, my goal is to create a compassionate space to help you unlearn harmful narratives, challenge internalised stigma, and reconnect with your body as it is: worthy, wise, and whole.

This work isn’t just about self-love; it’s about reclaiming dignity, autonomy, and a more peaceful relationship with food, movement, and self.

  • Recovery from disordered eating and chronic dieting is not a linear path; maintaining progress in everyday life can be one of the hardest parts.

I offer counselling that supports recovery maintenance with a deep understanding of the unique challenges that come with healing in a higher weight body, where stigma and bias can still feel ever-present.

With a gentle, non-diet, and trauma-informed approach, I provide a space to help you navigate triggers, rebuild trust in your body, and stay grounded in your values. This is support for sustaining healing, on your terms, at your pace.

  • Anxiety can show up as constant worry, panic, or a feeling of being “on edge.”

I support clients in understanding the root of their anxiety, calming the nervous system, and building coping tools that feel realistic and effective. The aim is not to eliminate anxiety entirely, but to help you feel more in control and more present in your life.

  • Life can leave us carrying more than we were ever meant to hold. Whether you’re navigating ongoing stress, past trauma, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, counselling can offer a safe and steady space to begin healing.

With training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), I support clients in gently processing distressing experiences, reducing emotional overwhelm, and reconnecting with a sense of inner stability. You don’t need to have all the answers, just a willingness to begin the healing journey.

  • Growing up with a parent who struggled with alcohol or addiction can leave deep, lasting imprints, shaping your sense of safety, self-worth, and how you relate to others.

Many adult children of alcoholics develop coping strategies like perfectionism, people-pleasing, or emotional suppression, and for some, this may include disordered eating. Food and body control can become a way to manage chaos, numb feelings, or find a sense of control when life feels unpredictable.

In counselling, we can gently explore these patterns, understand how they served you, and support you in building new, more nourishing ways of being. You are not broken, you adapted. And now, you deserve the space to heal.

  • Whether your loss is of a person or a pet, therapy can offer a grounded space to explore grief in all its forms. We can work together to understand your experience and support you in moving forward in a way that aligns with your values.

Treatment Modalities:
I have received training and engage in ongoing reading and continuing professional development in the following therapy models and philosophies of care:
